What is Bitnation

Bitnation is the proof-of-concept Decentralized Borderless Voluntary Nation (DBVN). It allows anyone to build their own DBVN as well you can become a Citizen of any Nation through a smartphone application. The core function of any of these nation is to protect its citizens and their assets through an enforceable jurisdiction[White paper]

We all came from different nations where certain restrictions, law, religion etc does not allow us do most things we want to do and travel to most places we want to travel, Bitnation will bridge the gap, With Bitnation anyone can build a nation on the blockchain and it will serve and fucntion like a real world nation, and anyone can be citizen of any nation and be able to use the services of the nation and abide by the nations rules. Bitnation allows you to Choose your own Code of Law, make your own decisions, write your own Constitution and provide Governance Services to Citizens that joins your nations.

Why Invest In Bitnation?

As we all know investing in blockchain projects through ICO's is a risky venture and one has to do a solid research before investing a cent in any project. From my own perspective I usually consider three things when looking to invest in any project they include: the product, the road map, the team.

The Product

Bitnation already have a working product with include the Pangea software and a mobile application and already registered over 200 new Nations with over 100 Embassies, and Consulates, over 10,000 Citizens on all five continents, and a dynamic community of 2,000+ contributors. According to the white paper the product have been in existing since 2014 and have organized the world’s first Blockchain Marriage and World Citizenship ID, Blockchain Land Title, Birth Certificate and Refugee Emergency ID during 2014 and 2015. Also over the years they have won quite a number of awards which includes

In 2016 Bitnation, recorded the world’s first DBVN Constitution on the Ethereum blockchain

The Road Map

Bitnation was founded on 14th July 2014 when they pilot their first World Marriage and citizenship ID, since then they have set and accomplish their target on each stage of development up til 2017, though their website and white paper doesn't include the 2018 road map, which I think, it is necessary they update the 2018 road map so that the investors will know the direction the project will be going this 2018.

The Team

Bitnation have a good number of team members and I like the way they structured the team into OPERATIONS, COMMUNICATIONS,TECHNOLOGY etc. this will allow each team member to focus and achieve targets on time. When team members are been engage into many task they might not deliver on time or at all. On the team members I really like James Fennell , James Fennell has gained experiences in many related field which makes him capable to head Chief Operations Officer also they have good collection of advisors who will help lead the project to success.

Conclusion

After reading through Bitnation white paper, and browsing through the website, I find the projecting so interesting, I like project that are first of it's kind. So I am rating this project above average this is because we don't have control or choose the country we are been born, countries were chosen for us by birth but Bitnation have given us the choice to choose the nation we want to belong to, it's just an interesting idea and when it is fully adopted it would give the world the freedom to decide their nation based on the activities of the nation. And it gives anyone the ability to create a nation and run it as if you are the president, people can choose to be a citizen in the nation you created. I am just waiting to see how wide this project will go in the near future and I will have this token as a long term HODL for me.
